Message from our school Psychologist, Mr. Clinger  ||  Mensaje del psicólogo de la escuela el Sr. Clinger

Donald Clingerdon

I’ve been at Claremont since the school opened as a Spanish Immersion Program in 2003. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Modern Foreign Languages with a concentration in Spanish from James Madison University in 2000. I stayed to join the School Psychology program at JMU and completed it with an M.A. and Ed.S. degree in 2003. Go Dukes! You’ll see me at Claremont on Thursdays and Fridays. I work with teachers about various student concerns; as well as with our wonderful Student Services team on educational placement and instructional strategy decisions. The best is when I work directly with the students in a variety of different ways. Outside of school, I enjoy playing music and sports with my family.

John Gubser
Special Education Teacher

My name is John Gubser and this is my 5th year as a teacher on the student services team here at Claremont. I was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, and I am a graduate of TC Williams High School. I attended James Madison University where I majored in English. After graduating in 2002, I spent the next several years living in Vail, Hawaii, and San Diego. I returned to Alexandria and graduated with a master’s degree in education from the University of Virginia in August 2014. I have a wife and 2 kids who allow me to appreciate every second of every day. Besides family and education, I am passionate about nature (especially animals), bicycling, surfing, snowboarding, reading almost anything, and traveling.
