Mr. Donald Clinger, Psychologist
Hola! I’ve been a school psychologist for Arlington for 18 years and at Claremont ever since I started. I also support students at Arlington Community High School (ACHS), which is a cool program for anyone of any age seeking their high school diploma. Additionally, I get to travel the county and work with students through our Multilingual Assessment Team. I attended James Madison University for undergraduate and grad school. I enjoy most types of music, basketball, and LEGO. You may see me DJing our school events from time to time.
Elizabeth Uffelman, School Counselor
Hello and hola! My name is Elizabeth and I am excited to be working part-time in a dual-language immersion school. I am a school counselor coming from Nelson County (just outside Charlottesville) and am new to the area. I enjoy yoga, cooking, and horseback riding. For my undergraduate degree, I went to Wake Forest University and received my Masters in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia. Go Hoo’s!
Ms. Kayla Powell, School Counselor
Hello! I am delighted to be working with the exceptional staff and families here at Claremont. I am very excited to learn more from our community and continue working on my Español! As a “military brat,” I spent much of my childhood moving and attending schools across the country- and ocean! Fortunately, we moved to Arlington and I was able to attend and graduate high school in APS. I received a B.S. in Psychology from William & Mary and completed my Master’s degree locally at Marymount University. During my free time, I love working in my garden and spending time out in nature with my husband and our dogs, Clover and Bruce.
