Hi and Hola a todos! I am so excited to be the librarian for Claremont. I love reading and sharing my passion for books and language with everyone. I graduated from Tulane University with a degree in English Language and Composition. After college I lived in Argentina for six months teaching high school English, and then later moved to a village in Spain where I taught primary school English for 2 years. In the summer of 2020, I received my Masters in Library and Information Science from University College Dublin where I focused on Children and School Librarianship. If you have questions or concerns, you can ask me in English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, and Portuguese! When I’m not reading and learning languages, I’m usually running, playing my violin, or cooking. Nos vemos pronto!”

My name is Alejandro Fernández-Pons

I’m excited to join the Claremont family as a library assistant; having worked here last year as one of two school-based substitute teachers. I was born in Guatemala City, but I have spent more than half my life in the Washington, DC area. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese; and I would be glad to help students and teachers at the library.
