Sra. Luly Maceo
Hi, I’m Luly Maceo and I’m so happy to be at Claremont and teaching your children as the bilingual library media specialist. I am a daughter of Cuban American parents and was raised in Miami Florida. I attended Florida International University where I received my BA in Elementary Education. Later I received my MA in Computer Education from Barry University. I began my teaching career in Florida and moved to Northern Virginia where I worked for Falls Church City Schools and then Key School in Arlington. More recently, I attended UVA and earned my Library Certificate in 2014. I am happy to call Arlington my home. I live here with my husband Carlos and 2 daughters Alex and Sophia. I love to read and listen to audiobooks everyday!
I’m Rachel Walsh and I’m thrilled to be at Claremont Elementary as the part-time Library Assistant. Originally from Rhode Island, I’ve lived in Arlington since 2000. In my free time I enjoy walking our dog, Harper, trying a new recipe, watching a baseball game, and, of course, reading! I love to read all types of books, especially biographies and historical fiction.
Hello! I am so happy to be serving you and your children as Claremont’s full-time library assistant. Books and Spanish immersion are some of my passions so I feel very blessed to be here at a bilingual school- it’s the best! I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Spanish, but I initially learned to speak it while living a few months in Guatemala City, Guatemala in 2012. When I’m not reading children’s books, you can find me cooking with my husband, Richard (a Claremont graduate) and planning for our next travel adventure. Nos vemos en la biblioteca 🙂
